Here we go again – the dreaded topic: a service pack or even a master update is coming up.
Many shop operators hesitate to take this step because they fear they may not be able to handle the challenge themselves. Often, there are also individual adjustments, modules, or modifications where it is unclear how they will affect the update – or whether they will be considered at all.
It is not uncommon for all changes to disappear after an update. Then begins the tedious restoration: compare old and new versions, reapply adjustments, integrate or even completely reprogram.

Our service overview
Shop updates, service packs, and fixes from Gambio are installed by us safely and promptly. We naturally consider all existing modules, individual modifications, and customizations of your shop. We coordinate the execution closely with you but deliberately aim for a short window after the release of an update to avoid potential bugs in early versions.
Duration and payment options
The maintenance contract has a duration of 12 months and ends automatically – without the need for termination. After it expires, you will receive an offer/renewal invoice from us; if you settle it, the shop maintenance contract simply extends – otherwise, it ends automatically. For billing, you can choose between annual, semi-annual, quarterly, or monthly prepayment.
Requirements
At the start of shop maintenance, your Gambio shop must be based on the latest shop version. Shops with older versions must be updated beforehand. We are happy to handle this step as part of our service offering.
Individual adjustments
The more a shop deviates from the Gambio standard, the higher the effort for an update. Especially when changes are not documented or integrated directly into original files in a sloppy manner.
As part of a version check, we analyze your shop, compare it with the unchanged Gambio version, and identify all deviations, modules, and modifications. Subsequently, you will receive from us:
- An assessment of the maintenance effort
- if applicable, an offer to adapt or rewrite the changes into an update-safe form
The basic offer applies to largely unchanged shops (theme excluded).
Xycons modules
Our own Xycons modules are fundamentally update-safe programmed and can be included in the maintenance package on a flat-rate basis. They are also regularly updated and maintained – including framework adjustments. A small annual maintenance fee of 10.00 per year is charged for each module.
Process & timings
During maintenance work, your shop will usually be temporarily taken offline. You will receive a booking link in advance, through which you can conveniently select your preferred date. About 15 minutes before the start, we will inform you about the beginning of the update. Work outside regular maintenance hours – such as on public holidays, Sundays, or at night – is possible by arrangement for an additional fee.
Security updates
During ongoing shop maintenance, we install important/urgent security updates (security patches) promptly and without special appointment scheduling, so your shop is protected again as quickly as possible. This installation can also take place at night, on Sundays, and public holidays.
Support & collaboration
Support services for minor issues are already included during the term of the maintenance contract. We still recommend the Gambio support contract, which you can conclude through us. The actual support for Gambio updates is provided directly by Gambio.
Technical access & confidentiality
For maintenance, we need:
- An FTP access to the webshop
- A full admin account in the shop (we register as a customer)
Of course, we treat all data, information, and customer content strictly confidentially. Upon request, you will receive a written confidentiality agreement before work begins.

This offer does not apply to shops hosted with world4you or hostpoint. Due to insufficient server configurations, even regular updates can lead to serious problems there. We cannot assume these risks.
